(HME and Large Hide Course- Daytona, Florida)

Improvised Explosive Formulations Throughout the duration of this course, students will be exposed to peroxide-based improvised explosives formulations along with 12 other types of formulations. The handler will have the opportunity to imprint their K9 on all the formulations created during the course. Following imprinting, the formulations will be utilized in practical exercises, including a post-blast environment. Our staff consists of current and former Bomb/EOD Technicians and K9 handlers/trainers that have the operational experience necessary to provide this advanced training. There is no alternative for this real-world based training. If you want to be operating at your optimal level and be ready to deal with the threat of improvised explosives and improvised explosive labs, you need to attend this course! Large Hide This course is designed to provide the K9 handler with information regarding odor and training aids that have never been taught before. Students will gain extensive knowledge about the K9 Olfactory System, enabling the handler to fully understand how their dog works, unleashing their full potential. Additionally, students will learn all aspects of training aids, to include: placement, procurement, storage, vapor pressure and safe handling. Recent international and domestic case studies involving large hides and mass quantities will be covered and students will understand various factors, i.e. blast pressure and damage assessment, resulting from these events. Each team will have the opportunity to imprint their K9 on several types of large hides including conventional and improvised explosives.
